Tetons Adventure

Every Fall I head to the Tetons to photograph the changing of the fall colors! Every year I am always amazed by the Tetons. How different they can look, how quickly the colors can change and how cold or hot it can become at this time of the year.

The Tetons are pretty spectacular. They remind me of the Bitterroot mountain range in Montana. No lead up to the mountain’s. Just Peaks raising straight up from the valley floor. If you ever get a chance to visit the Teton’s in the fall you, then you will not regret it.  Just try and find areas off the beaten track and away from the crowds and you will most definitely have an enjoyable adventure!

Here is a small gallery of some of my Tetons Adventure from 2016

Wisdom Summer

Wisdom Summer

I packed up my Pentax 645z and headed to Wisdom yesterday. The winds where blowing, but the light was pretty good for the most part. I unfortunately forgot my tripod at home and found myself attempting to slow down my shutter to try and capture the movement of the grass, clouds and water.  I found out quickly however, that handholding a Medium Format camera at 1/6th of a second with the mirror locked up, proved to not be the best method.

Here are some images that I took yesterday evening. Its everything from Landscapes to horses to hiking in a burn area.

Equipment used:

-Pentax 645z

-Pentax 35mm f3.5

-Pentax 80-160mm f4

My attempt at a long exposure hand held. Not so easy with a Medium format camera!

And one more attempt at hand holding 1/6th of a sec!

Waterfalls and Sunsets

Waterfalls and Sunsets

Today in-between on and off again rain, I managed to snap some images up at Twin Falls, Up Country here in Maui. The waterfalls where super pretty, but you had to sneak around the tour groups in order to get clear pictures with out any people in them. At the end of our day, we headed back to my now favourite Ho’opkia Point to snap some sunset pictures. The clouds where super dark and stormy looking and sure enough a squall came rolling in and the wind and waves picked up in no second. Here are a selection of images from my Final day in Maui.

Images of the past 2 months!

Here are a couple of images over the past couple of months. I have had so much fun shooting with a couple of different cameras (Nikon D600, Fujifilm Xe-1, Nikon D700, Nikon D3) and the best thing is I keep finding myself moving towards shooting more with Prime lenses. Getting back to the basics in shooting! It just kinda starts to un complicate things.  Of course my 70-200mm 2.8 will always be a major work horse for me, but I just can’t break away from the love of a f1.8 or a f1.4.

Hopefully more to come in this new year!
