Final day in Cuzco

Well today is my last day in Cuzco. I am finally flying back to Lima tomorrow. I am very happy to get my body back to where it truly belongs....Sea Level!!! Haha I am planning on staying in Lima for 1 night and then heading down to Parasac, where there is a National Reserve for wild life. It's considered the "poor mans" Gilapigous islands. Here are a couple of shots to cap out my day here in Cuzco. I am sad to be leaving, but I am excited to get back to the warmth of Lima.

Puno & lake Titicaca

Puno & lake Titicaca

I just got back from Puno. It was around a 6 hr bus ride up to around 3800m. I went to see the famous lake Titicaca with the floating islands. I also did a home stay for a night on one of the local islands. Puno is a very interesting city that offers lots to see and do. The shots are a bit out of order, but they where all taken on the way too, or at Lake Titicaca.

Lares trek to Machu Picchu

35 km later I am tired, but so happy with what I have been able to see. The Lares trek was amazing. It was so incredibly hard at around 4700 meters,. I was gasping for air, huge headache and just felt horrible. Even with all that you defiantly get a sense of accomplishment for being able to push your body past it's comfort zone. All in all the trek was amazing and I managed to snap some nice pics!

Acclimatizing in Cuzco!

Acclimatizing in Cuzco

I arrived in Peru two days ago. The trip has been really interesting si far. Terrifying cab rides and trying to get used to a higher elevation. I had a first rough day in Cuzco yesterday, but am feeling a lot better today. Still out of breath when I walk up stairs. Tomorrow the trek starts and I am super excited. We met with our guide Jimmy today. He seems like a great guy and I am super excited to get out there trekking. Here are some pic's from today. Everything is edited on my iPad!
