Nikon F3

Nikon F3

I finally had a chance to get 1 roll of film developed from my Nikon F3. The amazing Nikon "flag ship" SLR camera was given to me by my friend John David. The camera is in absolutely mint condition and I was told only had around 12 rolls of film ran through it!

Its harder to find places to develop film these days and its even harder to find film! I shot three rolls of film with the Nikon F3 thus far and two where Black and White. Unfortunately, London Drugs does not develop BW anymore. Or at least they told me it would take around 30 days to process the film. Crazy to think that film processing and wait times have changed so much, even in the last 5 years.

These images of course where scanned and then I ran them through Photoshop to Correct the colours. London Drugs, does not do the best scanning work, therefore some corrections had to be made.

Overall, the Nikon F3 is an incredible SLR to shoot with. The shutter is like pure butter and the camera itself operates so easily. I am going to attempt to hunt down some Transparency film and hopefully a better place to process my images at an attempt to shoot more with this amazing camera!!!

Final Fall Colours

Final Fall Colours

Here are a couple more shots from my fun trip to the Montana Bitterroot Valley and the last images of the beautiful Fall colours. Next time I head back there to visit, most of the tree's will of lost their leafs and the Yellows, Reds and Greens will have disappeared until next fall.

These images were taken on a variety of Cameras. Pentax 645z, Nikon D4s and the Nikon D800.

Today we set out in an A-Star, during the early morning light to try to capture some of the amazing Bitterroot Mountain Ranges. These images where shot with a Penatx 645z with a 45mm 2.8 lens. I also had my Nikon D800 and D4s with me to capture some super wide and telephoto shots. Those to come later!

Here are some of the amazing mountain ranges that split Montana and Idaho's boarders!

Last Warm Fall Days

Last Warm Fall Days

The last warm fall days are slowly drifting by here in Montana. Before I head back to cooler, soggy/rainy/wet Vancouver weather,  I am going to try to snap as many pictures of the incredible colors that you will find in the Bitterroot Valley at this time of the year. The tree's leafs are slowly turning into an array of Red/ yellow and orange. The Pentax 645Z is really built for these kinds of conditions and I can't wait to get some more lenses for the camera to try to capture different angles and different perspectives.

Thus far, most of the images on the Pentax are shot with a 645 AF 45mm 2.8 lens and a 645 A 75mm 2.8 lens.  You can really see the focal length compression that Medium format will give you and the bokeh is actually quiet impressive.

Here are some more shots from the past week!

Pentax 645z Road Trip

Pentax 645z Road Trip

I decided to take "shot gun" with the Pentax 645z and try my luck at snapping some pics on our 2 quick 2 day Road Trips. We took a very long 12 hour ride to Idaho and back and then the next day headed out to Wisdom. The Pentax 645z did a very good job at keeping up with my "Gorilla" Style photography. Also, I through in some more pic's of the Niece and Nephew hanging out. This camera is truly amazing and the clarity and file info is unbelivable!
