Prime Time!
Prime Time! I decided to Walk the Streets of Casco Viejo, panama; using only a 50mm 1.8 Prime Lens and an 85mm 1.8 Prime Lens. Prime lens street photography is actually hard, because you have to get close to your subject. I got caught snapping a couple of times. Casco Viejo, is an incredible place where old Spanish/French influence some together to create some amazing architecture. There is a mix between the very rich and the very poor. Some buildings should be condemned, but you will see families living out of these boarded up houses; living in anything that is available.
Here are some shots from my explorations today. I am used to hiding behind a 70-200 2.8 or a 24-70 2.8 Lens, but today, I decided to just try my primes out and get over that horrible awkward feeling of taking a strangers picture!
Its hard to get up to someone with a Prime 50mm Lens. I am no longer able to hide behind my Zoom!
I gave this guy some change, so I felt better about taking his picture!
And of course the Famous "Welcome to Panama Man" He is always singing and Playing!
Jenna and Sam's Harrison Wedding
Jenna and Sam's Harrison Wedding!
Jenna and Sam's Wedding took place in the Beautiful Harrison Hot Springs. Rain was threatening to ruin the day, but lucky held off and ended up being perfect for skin tones and portraits.
I had a great day with these two and the Sam's Dance was and will forever been MEMORABLE!
A ride Through Chepo
A Ride Through Chepo! Its that time again. The beautiful Mama Nido, (stands for Mothers Nest); has been pulled out of the water to get a face lift. At the Chepo Ship Yard in Panama, she sits looking a bit tired and weary. Flame torches and welders tirelessly work away at her haul; patching and scraping away the salt water damage. Its been a interesting process to watch how huge slabs of steel can be cut and welded into place. The yard is HOT and very smelly, mostly due to the fish processing plant across the way.
With a couple more weeks left to go, she is due for a fresh paint job and then she will be one her way back to the ocean; housing the Famous Picaflor and The Hooker, fishing boats!
Some of the ship yard workers, working in the Hot Haul of the boat. Temperatures over 100 Degree's inside.
This is how they haul boats in and out of the water. An old train rail system, full with cables and pulleys. The ship Yard worker's are waiting to through lines onto the ship.
Rossana & Damian Wedding Samples
Rossana & Damian Wedding Samples:
I traveled to beautiful Malta in the first week of July. I had the wonderful chance to photograph Rossana and Damian's beautiful Island Wedding. The ceremony was in a old little chapel in the sleepy town of Mellieha. The weather was incredible and the day is definitely one to remember.
Here are some of their pic's!
