Salmon Idaho

Salmon Idaho

We spent the week hanging out with friends in Salmon Idaho. The weather was cold, but the sun was shining and Idaho, as per usual was just as beautiful as last time I visited.  I had the fun time to get some horse lessons from a wonderful 5 year old gal, who definitely knows her stuff about riding and well pretty much everything else. What a great weekend and I can't wait to go back to visit!

JAWS

JAWS

Yesterday we ventured to JAWS! A nice early morning wake up was met with a beautiful sunrise and some killer waves. The swells where between 20-27ft or so and building. Upon arriving at Jaws, you realize how far the waves really are form the shoreline. You basically stand on a cliff overlooking the water and have to jockey for position with all the crowds and photographers that are already set up. Apparently when JAWS is going off, people fly in from all around the world to surf its swells.

I started shooting with my 300mm 2.8 lens and my Nikon D4s, but then soon realized that I needed more resolution and switched out to my Nikon D800.

It is hard to explain how amazing it looks to see massive waves rolling in and tiny little ant looking riders paddling into them unassisted.

Here are some pic's from the morning!

Holter Lake Fishing

Holter Lake Fishing

While on Vacation in Montana this spring, I was lucky enough to head out to Holter Lake and go Trout fishing. We had beautiful weather, despite the somewhat slow fishing. Here are some pictures from the trip. I always have a camera or two in my hand trying to capture everything around me.

Photography is no longer a profession, its more like an obsession!

Photographs taken: Nikon D800, Nikon D600, 300mm 2.8, 24-70 2.8, Sigma 35mm 1.4
