Azore Gigabytes

Azore Gigabytes

After 8 days in the Azores, my hard drives are full and my computer has grinned to a halt! I leave the Azores with over 200GB worth of Images saved to my drives. The Nikon D800's Raw files prove to be both amazing and overwhelming when it comes to workflow and file handling.

Shooting Raw on this trip was not even a question. Why when you have the ability to shoot at 36 MP would you not? I can't wait to get my hands on my new Pentax 645Z and then I will truly experience the frustration the "spinning circle of death" on my Mac!

Ok that is enough camera Geek for now.

Here are some more shots from our 8 days on the Island!!! More to come over the next week.

Another pano, this time shot from a bit of a higher angle. All Panos are shot hand-held. defiantly a Gorilla type of photography.

Using my Nikkor 14-24 with a massive polarizer over the lens, I managed to get a bit of a long exposure.

Using the "Big Stopper" I managed to slow my shutter speed down enough to snap some long exposures during Mid-day.

Mediterranean Life

Mediterranean life

I was incredibly lucky to spend the past 8 Days on the beautiful Island of Malta. Its an amazing country full of kind people, good food, incredible history and of course; amazing architecture. The rugged Island coast line boast some of the most impressive fortified cities, build centuries ago during the time of the Crusaders and the Ottoman Empire. The Island is overwhelmingly historical and the architecture of the cities is definitely impressive.  Malta sit's only around 90km or so off the coast of Sicily and you can definitely see the influence in the food in Malta. Fresh pasta's, sauces and fish!

Here are some samples of my Mediterranean trip!

malta62webThe amazing Commando restaurant, owned by my friend Rossana and Damien Ciappara. The food was amazing and the service and atmosphere made me to and eat there almost every night!

commando2webGoat Cheese from Gozo, breaded and freed on some caramelized onions and spinach with reduced balcamic vinegar. YUM!
