After a Long Cold winter, the past 4 months spent tying Flies and buying non-needed fly fishing gear, it was finally time to get back out on the River and fish. Spring is near and so was the starting of the Skwala Hatch.

Here are more shots from our 3 months of Fishing in Pina's Bay, Panama. Some of these images where taken aboard the Picaflor, under the direction of Captain Adolfo. The first Marlin gave us a dazzling display. Jumping straight at us. The boat was powering forward and Justin, the angler, was reeling as fast as he could in order to take up line. When I get a chance later in the week, I will post the video that goes along with this fight. It was pretty amazing to see this fish jump like this. Nice release on the fish after as well.
Justin reeling his heart out to try and take up line on this crazy jumping fish.
This Marlin just kept jumping and jumping. These are the flights that photographers dream of.
Hook out and lure back, the boys release this nice Marlin.
The special Lure to win them all! Custom Made by Matt, even has our Mates face pictured in the Lure.

Mike Crossland taking a breather on his nice Blue Marlin
Justin trying his hand at pitching a fly back to a sailfish. The sail hit the lure a couple of times, but just couldn't get her to bite.
Nice Sail, our Mate Jonathan almost got a Bill in his arm.

Mediterranean Life
Mediterranean life
I was incredibly lucky to spend the past 8 Days on the beautiful Island of Malta. Its an amazing country full of kind people, good food, incredible history and of course; amazing architecture. The rugged Island coast line boast some of the most impressive fortified cities, build centuries ago during the time of the Crusaders and the Ottoman Empire. The Island is overwhelmingly historical and the architecture of the cities is definitely impressive. Malta sit's only around 90km or so off the coast of Sicily and you can definitely see the influence in the food in Malta. Fresh pasta's, sauces and fish!
Here are some samples of my Mediterranean trip!
The amazing Commando restaurant, owned by my friend Rossana and Damien Ciappara. The food was amazing and the service and atmosphere made me to and eat there almost every night!
Goat Cheese from Gozo, breaded and freed on some caramelized onions and spinach with reduced balcamic vinegar. YUM!

Coiba Adventure
Finally I am back after a month long trip to Coiba, Panama. The Marlin Bite was a bit slow, but we filled our freezers with Tuna and enjoyed amazing Lighting Storms, saw huge pods of Sperm Whales, fished in some massive bait balls of Tuna and most importantly all of the crew didn't kill each other after 25 Day's together.
Here are some of the images that I got while out on the water every day. We had a mixture of groups fish with us , check out some of the pictures below!!!
